Fernando Degiovanni

Fernando Degiovanni is Professor of Latin American, Iberian and Latino Cultures at The Graduate Center, CUNY.  He is the author of two award-winning books: Los textos de la patria: Nacionalismo, políticas culturales y canon en Argentina (Beatriz Viterbo, 2007; Alfredo Roggiano Prize for Latin American Cultural and Literary Criticism) and Vernacular Latin Americanisms: War, the Market, and the Making of a Discipline (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2018; Best Book in the Humanities, LASA Southern Cone). He is also co-editor of Latin American Literature in Transition, 1870-1930 (Cambridge University Press, 2023) and has guest-edited Comunidades y relatos del libro en América Latina (Orbis Tertius, 2015). He has published articles in Revista Iberoamericana, Revista de Crítica Literaria Latinoamericana, Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies, Journal of World Literatures, Variaciones Borges, Hispamérica, Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos, Orbis Tertius, as well as numerous edited collections. Fernando Degiovanni has been awarded fellowships from Argentina’s Fondo Nacional de las Artes, Fundación Antorchas and National Council for Scientific and Technical Research. He has been visiting professor at numerous European and Argentina universities and is the current president of the Instituto Internacional de Literatura Iberoamericana.

Valeria de los Ríos

Valeria de los Ríos Escobar is a Ph.D from Cornell University (New York, 2005) and professor at the Institute of Aesthetics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where she teaches courses on Image Theories, Film and Literature and Film Theories . Her research has focused on the relationships between literature, photography and cinema, and on Chilean cinema. She is currently developing a project on new materialisms and Anthropocene in audiovisual and literary fictions. She is the author of Animal Life. Non-human figurations in cinema, literature and photography (2022), Metamorfosis. Approaches to the cinema and poetics of Raúl Ruiz (2019), Artificial ghosts: Cinema and photography in Enrique Lihn (2015), Light spectra: Visual technologies in Latin American literature (2011), co-author with Catalina Donoso of El cine de Ignacio Agüero: The documentary as the reading of a space (2015) and co-editor of Raúl Ruiz's cinema: Ghosts, simulacra and artifices (2010).

Maximiliano Crespi

Es crítico y ensayista. Es Doctor en Letras (UNLP), Investigador Adjunto del CONICET, docente e investigador del Centro de Estudios de Teoría y Crítica Literaria (IdIHCS-FaHCE-UNLP) e Investigador de la ANPCyT, con el Proyecto de Investigación “Funciones institucionales y políticas intelectuales en la crítica literaria y cultural argentina (1910-2010)”. Actualmente es profesor e investigador radicado en el Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici dell'Università degli Studi di Trieste (Italia). Se ha especializado en Metodología de la Investigación Científica y Teoría y Crítica Literaria e Historia Cultural e Intelectual Argentina y Latinoamericana. Integra el Observatorio de Literatura Argentina Contemporánea (OLAC). Ha colaborado en numerosas revistas especializadas y en diversos volúmenes colectivos de la Historia de la Literatura del siglo XX (dirigida por David Viñas) y de la Historia de la Crítica de la Literatura Argentina (dirigida por Noé Jitrik). Antologó, editó y prologó obras de Jaime Rest, David Viñas y Raúl Antelo. Ha dictado clases y conferencias en numerosas universidades argentinas, así como también en Uruguay, México, Ecuador, Perú, Colombia y España. Entre sus libros se destacan: Grotescos, un género (2006), Viñas crítico (2008), La conspiración de las formas (2011), Jaime Rest: función crítica y políticas culturales (2013), La literatura de derecha explicada a los niños (2015), El objeto total (2018), Pasiones terrenas (2019), La revuelta del sentido (Premio FNArtes, 2019), Tres realismos (2020) y Un poco demasiado (2022) y Ficción y transgresión (2023).
