Convocatoria a Beca para jóvenes investigadores residentes en Cuba / Call for Applications for the Scholarship for Young Scholars Residing in Cuba

La Sección Cuba de la Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos convoca a la Beca para jóvenes investigadores residentes en Cuba, dirigida a apoyar la participación de jóvenes investigadores en el Congreso LASA 2026.
Podrán postularse los miembros de la Sección Cuba que cumplan con los siguientes requisitos:
1. Tener hasta 35 años de edad y residir en Cuba.
2. Contar con carta de aceptación para participar en el Congreso LASA 2026.
3. Enviar el texto completo de la ponencia aceptada por el Comité Organizador al correo shdominicis@gmail.com.
4. Enviar una síntesis curricular actualizada (máximo dos cuartillas) que incluya fecha de nacimiento, especialidad y filiación laboral.
El plazo de admisión de las propuestas cerrará el 20 de febrero de 2026. El resultado se dará a conocer mediante correo electrónico el 27 de febrero de 2026.
El jurado será coordinado por Samuel Hernández Dominicis y Tamarys Lien Bahamonde, en representación de la Sección Cuba.
Solo se seleccionará una de las propuestas presentadas. La beca cubrirá los costos de inscripción en el Congreso LASA 2026 (de forma retroactiva) y el boleto aéreo de ida y vuelta desde Cuba, hasta un monto máximo de 600 USD.

The Cuba Section of the Latin American Studies Association announces the Scholarship for Young Scholars Residing in Cuba, aimed at supporting the participation of early-career researchers in the LASA 2026 Congress.
Members of the Section who meet the following requirements may apply:
1. Be 35 years of age or younger and reside in Cuba.
2. Hold a letter of acceptance for participation in the LASA 2026 Congress.
3. Submit the full text of the presentation accepted by the Organizing Committee to shdominicis@gmail.com.
4. Submit an up-to-date curriculum vitae (maximum two pages), including date of birth, field of specialization, and institutional affiliation.
The application deadline is February 20, 2026. Results will be communicated by email on February 27, 2026.
The jury will be coordinated by Samuel Hernández Dominicis and Tamarys Lien Bahamonde, on behalf of the Cuba Section.
Only one application will be selected. The scholarship will cover LASA 2026 Congress registration fees (retroactively) and round-trip airfare from Cuba, up to a maximum of USD 600.
