Position Description:Smith College invites applications for an Advanced Assistant Professor in Latinx Studies. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in the social sciences or Latinx Studies, at least two years of full-time teaching experience, and a robust publication record.

Research & Teaching Focus: We are seeking a candidate whose work is grounded in the social sciences and the study of "biopolitics." This includes research related to:

*   Migration governance and practices

*   Urban geographies

*   Economies of gender and sexuality

*   Reproductive rights and public health

*   Ecological and more-than-human studies

*   Other interrogations of power structures affecting "life processes"

Teaching responsibilities include an introductory Latinx Studies course, colloquiums, and seminars in the candidate's specialty.

Summary: Fully Funded PhD Scholarships at Oxford Brookes University

Oxford Brookes University is offering three fully funded doctoral scholarships through the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). The program welcomes innovative and socially engaged research proposals, with a strong emphasis on projects and applicants that advance Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)


*   Funding: Fully funded doctoral research scholarships.

Number of Awards: Three.

*   Eligibility: Open to motivated candidates in Arts, Humanities, and related disciplines.

*   Focus: A strong institutional commitment to EDI, with recruitment processes designed to be fair and inclusive (including anonymised applications and diverse panels).

Research Themes: Applications are welcomed across three main, interdisciplinary challenge areas:

1.  Creative and Cultural Industries, Media, and Arts Practice (EDI in Practice): Topics include socially engaged arts, community-based practice, immersive storytelling, archiving marginalised voices, and AI in creative industries.

2.  Identity, Representation, and Social Justice (EDI in Theory and Experience): Topics include trans and gender-nonconforming identities, migration studies, Hispanic/Latin American cultural studies, feminist popular culture, and histories of marginalisation.

3.  Humanities, Philosophy, and Literature (EDI in Knowledge and Method): Topics include digital humanities, American literature, environmental philosophy, critical theory, other modernisms, and ethics of AI in education.
