Context of the Role: Latinxs in Sustainability (LiS) is experiencing significant growth, having expanded its board, volunteer base, and programs. To sustain this positive momentum, the organization is creating a first-of-its-kind board role focused on internal operational strength. This position is crucial for ensuring that their growth remains sustainable, connected, and grounded in care.
Primary Responsibilities: The Managing Director / Chief of Staff will be instrumental in building the foundational structures for the movement. Key responsibilities include:
• Developing systems to strengthen collaboration and reduce burnout.
• Supporting capacity planning and role alignment across the organization.
• Ensuring the growing team stays coordinated and energized.
• Helping LiS operate with greater capacity and long-term sustainability.
This role is a unique, pivotal opportunity to shape the internal framework that allows the LiS mission to thrive and scale its impact effectively.

Illinois State University (ISU) Latinx Alumni Network (LAN) Scholarship
The Latinx Alumni Network (ISULAN) is offering two $500 scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year. This award is funded by alumni and friends of the university to support enrolled Latinx students.

* Eligibility: Admitted ISU students in good academic standing who demonstrate commitment to learning, campus engagement, community service, and leadership.
Application Requirements:
* A complete online application form (which cannot be saved and resumed).
* A 500-word personal essay on experiences with diversity/inclusion and commitment to serving the Latinx community.
* Two letters of recommendation (due by December 10, 2025) from a teacher, professor, coach, supervisor, manager, or clergy.
