Desde el comité organizador del próximo Congreso Regional de LASA Centroamérica, queremos compartirles una noticia emocionante!

Como ya saben, el Comité Ejecutivo de LASA aprobó una iniciativa propuesta por la expresidenta de LASA, Jo-Marie Burt, para organizar congresos regionales en Latinoamérica. El congreso inaugural será el Congreso de LASA Centroamérica en Antigua, Guatemala. Actualmente, el evento se encuentra en fase de planificación. Nuestro objetivo es celebrarlo del 8 al 11 de abril de 2026, pero debido a que aún no se han concretado los detalles de la sede, no podemos lanzar la convocatoria oficial. Mientras tanto, no queríamos que los miembros de la sección se quedaran sin información, especialmente ahora que la fecha límite de LASA París se acerca, el 9 de septiembre.

Nuestro objetivo es mantenerlos informados sobre los planes y el cronograma. Tan pronto como tengamos la confirmación final de las fechas y lugares, compartiremos el anuncio completo y la convocatoria oficial. Esperamos que esto suceda lo antes posible y agradecemos sinceramente su paciencia.

Pensamos que era especialmente importante comunicarnos con usted antes de cualquier anuncio público, ya que sus conocimientos, participación y redes serán clave para hacer de este nuevo congreso regional un espacio vibrante y significativo.

From the organizing committee of the upcoming LASA Central America Regional Congress, we wanted to share some exciting news with you!

As you may know, the Executive Committee of LASA approved an initiative proposed by former LASA president Jo-Marie Burt to organize regional congresses in Latin America. The inaugural congress will be the LASA Central America Congress in Antigua, Guatemala. At the moment, the event is still in the planning stages. We are aiming for April 8–11, 2026, but because the venue arrangements have not yet been finalized, we are not able to launch the official call for proposals. In the meantime, we did not want section members to be left in the dark, especially as the LASA Paris deadline is approaching on September 9.

Our goal is to keep you informed about the plans and timeline. As soon as we have the final confirmation of dates and locations, we will share the full announcement and the official call for submissions. We expect this to happen as quickly as possible, and we truly appreciate your patience in the meantime.

We thought it was especially important to reach out to you before any public announcement, since your insights, participation, and networks will be key to making this new regional congress a vibrant and meaningful space.
