Project "The impacts of deportation on Salvadoran families" is looking for participants.

May 14, 2025 | Research and Study Opportunities

Researchers from the City University of New York are seeking interviewees for a project about the impacts of deportation on Salvadoran families. The goal is to produce a publicly available report that shows (1) the likelihood of post-deportation harassment, persecution, and/or incarceration in El Salvador and (2) the impact of deportation to El Salvador on families living in the United States. Attorneys will be able to use the findings in the report to advocate for their Salvadoran clients who are at risk of being deported.

This project is funded by a grant from the Russell Sage Foundation. Each participant receives $100 for participating anonymously in an oral history interview via Zoom that's about one hour long. Participants must (1) live in the United States and (2) have had a family member deported to El Salvador since March 2022.
